Introduction to Circular Weaving

About This Workshop

Students will learn everything about circular weaving, from start to finish! They will first learn how to make their own circle weave loom using a 20cm diameter metal ring and some string. Then Hannah will teach them several weaving techniques, including the plain weave, soumak weave, and rya knot techniques. Students will use these weaving techniques to design and fill their circular weave loom. Afterwards, Hannah will teach them how to finish off their project and give them some tips and tricks along the way. Afterwards, students will have the skills to create many more circular weaves of any size loom they desire. What you’ll get All materials are included in this workshop, including different varities and colors of yarn and wool roving, as well as a circular loom. A course manual with instructional guidance will be provided during the workshop for all participants, and of course, at the end of the class you will leave with your completed circular weave wall art!
